The 2,032-room Hyatt Regency Chicago, Illinois’ largest hotel, has completed a multiyear, $200 million phased renovation. Phase 3 of the project was the renovation of the 24,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom.
The Grand Ballroom’s nearly 7,000-square-foot foyer now features built-in registration desks, new digital screens for customized branding and a digital feature wall designed to anchor large-scale events. The foyer opens into the ballroom itself, which now sports customizable LED ceiling panels and modernized finishes.
Transformed spaces for Chicago meetings
Phase 1, completed in 2023, transformed all the guest rooms in the West Tower with a new, streamlined design. Phase 2 finished up a year later, modernizing the Regency and Crystal Ballrooms, and completing the renovation of the East Tower accommodations.
Throughout the property, guests now experience elevated design and expanded functionality, including a light-filled Crystal Ballroom with a private outdoor terrace and fully modernized meeting environments that reflect how attendees gather and connect today.
"We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone and debut the reimagined Hyatt Regency Chicago," said general manager Mark Wagner. "As the largest hotel in Chicago, operating in one of the most dynamic meeting markets in the country, this $200 million transformation reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional spaces for today’s attendees. Every guest room, meeting venue, networking area, and public space has been thoughtfully redesigned to reflect how people gather, connect and do business today."
On the Chicago Riverwalk, Hyatt Regency Chicago overlooks the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The property's restaurants and bars include Stetsons Modern Steak + Sushi and Big Bar, which claims fame as North America's longest freestanding bar. The hotel has a total of 240,000 square feet of meeting space.
